UCETAM’s ELA program gave me the opportunity to practice, develop, and hone skills related to leadership/mentorship, staff teamwork and coordination, curriculum design, content and materials development, and classroom management. No matter where I go to teach next, I am ready to jump in as an experienced and confident teacher. As a teacher or manager who has finished initial training, you rarely or never work with a peer in the same room at the same time again. One of my favorite parts of teaching through the UCETAM ELA program was getting to work in the classroom with several highly experienced teachers: every teacher has his or her own way of teaching and, no matter your experience level, you and the educators you work with will learn a lot from teaching, co-teaching, and feedback.
